Nikolai Lugansky invites you on a journey through the evocative and emotional landscapes of Beethoven, Schumann, Wagner and Liszt in this extraordinary programme. Beginning with Beethoven’s stormy ‘Tempest’ sonata, we are then whirled into the charming and whimsical world of 19th century Vienna through Schumann’s Carnaval Scenes from Vienna. Then, Wagner’s iconic operatic themes come to life, with stirring arrangements of the Magic Fire Music from Die Walküre and the luminous Transformation Music & Finale from Parsifal. Finally, Liszt’s Legend No. 2 brings a dramatic and spiritual flair, depicting a saint's miraculous journey across the sea.
